WHAT IS A CLIENT MAP?
This stands for the client’s Motive Action Plan. It’s a document we agree at the start of every project which sets the direction for the campaign and contains agreed KPIs and goals.
Do you pay for backlinks?
No, we never, ever buy links. All the backlinks we deliver for clients are earned links. We win them through high editorial standards and news sense. Earned links are the kind most loved by Google, which also happens to hate nasty paid-for links.
Do you only work with online brands?
Yes we are a specialist e-commerce digital PR agency working with a wide mix of online brands from many different sectors of business including food and drink, fashion, fitness, health, transport, travel and gardening. Whatever you sell online we can help you to reach more customers and grow your business.
How long have you been around?
Motive founder Steve McComish registered his first PR agency on 26 June 2008, following a career as a news journalist with one of the UK’s highest selling national daily newspapers. After a full rebrand we relaunched as Motive in January 2020 with a new focus on digital PR and content marketing.
Do you offer ideas?
Yes, we are a creative bunch and we love nothing more than brainstorming headline grabbing ideas for clients. We make sure our ideas are aligned to your business goals so they will drive the outcomes you seek.
Can you help me with strategy? How does it work?
Yes, of course. We offer a free initial consultation where we meet and discuss your needs and from there we can start to put together your Motive Action Plan to deliver success.
Will I have to do much?
No, not if you don’t want to. Once we have agreed the Motive Action Plan you can pretty much leave us to get on with it for you. We’ll be in regular contact but we are here to make your life easier, not more difficult.
What does success look like?
This varies from client to client and campaign to campaign. We will agree goals with you at the planning stage and are happy to work to any KPIs you suggest.
Sounds good, what’s the catch?
There isn’t one. We are just very good at what we do.
OK, how much will it cost? Are we talking big money here?
The exact level of investment will depend on the goals we agree at the planning stage and on how much of our time it’s going to take to reach them, so every campaign is different. But our rates are very reasonable within our industry.
Is there any minimum length of contract?
We don’t tie clients in to lengthy contracts but we do recommend you take a long term view to get the most out of PR.
How long do clients choose to stay with Motive?
Motive began trading in 2020 but we brought several clients with us from our previous agency. That means five clients have been with us for more than seven years while two have been us for more than nine years. Not every client needs long term help though and some do come in for short projects only.

Can you help with awards submissions?
Yes, this is something we do for many of our clients and we have an excellent track record of helping clients win both national and regional awards across many different business sectors.
Do you do social media campaigns?
Yes we do. It’s something we will look at when we put together your Motive Action Plan.
What about video?
Yep, we can do that too.
Can you help with technical SEO and PPC?
We don’t currently offer these services but we work closely with partner agencies who can help you with this.
